Debate needed

If the ACT Government’s changes the workers compensation and third party motor vehicle insurance, the result will be that around 90 per cent of victims will no longer have access to justice.
Instead any claims will be decided by a Government-appointed medical board based on dubious science.
The ACT Government has offered no valid reason or provided evidence for the need to make any changes.
The hardest hit will be the most vulnerable in society, from children to older people.
Those opposing the proposed changes include psychologists, legal experts, the ACT Human Rights Commissioner, victims, ordinary citizens, and, by the time you have examined the evidence presented here, probably you, too.
If you think the changes are unfair, tell your friends, speak to your local Member, ask your union, add the FairComp Facebook page to your favourites, and demand a proper public debate.
If the changes do go ahead, the chances are you will not find out how unfair they are until you, or someone close to you, is a victim — and finds access to justice denied.
